"Legal Help" PU has started working since 2003 and main goal of the union is to promote democratic and rule of law values in Azerbaijan and a heathier civil society and defend basic human rights and freedoms. Duties of union are to educate the public in democratic values and obligations, increase legal and political awarenss, wstablish icreased loval role, promote transparent and regular elections, and support traditionaly unrepresented groups, incuding refugies, the handicapped, and orphans.

 "Legal Help" public union started to carry out "Defending Human Rights and Building Civil Society" project financed by National Endowment for Democracy.

The main aims and objectives of this project are to strengthen NGO sector and develop NGO legislation, to involve youth in the 3-rd sector, prepare young human rights' defenders and to help them to network in the southern part of Azerbaijan.

Strengthening NGO sector and producing young human rights' defenders will cause the improvement of the 3-rd sector and involvement of youth in it in the southern part of the country.

"Legal Help" public union is building capacity to provide a broad range of resources and services to NGOs, community-based organizations, media, private sector, and local government. "Legal Help" PU has made some successes on this direction. Such as lately new NGO called "Contribution to Education" has passed the state registration of the Ministry of Justice and this can be considered as one of the best successes. "Contribution to Education" public union was established in 2006. The founders of the NGO had sent the applications to the Ministry of Justice for the registration twice. The applications were mailed back several times by the Ministry because of some shortcomings in the documents.

The President of the "Legal Help" PU Ilgar Gasimov helped to this organization with correcting the necessary juridical documents for the registration. Only after the technical assistance by "Legal Help" PU, "Contribution to Education" PU has passed the state registration of the Ministry of Justice (ID N 1107-Q17- 2364) on September, 22, 2007.

The mission of the "Contribution to Education" public union is to assist in development of education in the South region.

Last NGO in the South region was registered on September, 2006. After long time the "Contribution to Education" PU passed the state registration as NGO and this is the success of the "Legal Help" PU.
